Consumer Attorneys take on Global warming. The plaintiffs bar fights pollution.

Once again consumer attorneys have stepped in where the government has failed to act. Consumer attorneys have long been the champions of the underdog against such goliaths as insurance companies, car manufacturers and global pharmaceutical companies. Now with the White House and Congress' failure to address the catastrophic impact of greenhouse emissions consumer attorneys are moving into the void to protect our planet from the disastrous consequences of climate change. On November 29th, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in a Massachusetts case brought against the EPA for its failure to regulate greenhouse gasses.

Across the country there are numerous cases pending, in both federal and state courts, putting forward a vast array of novel legal theories to reduce greenhouse emissions. The defendants in these cases are familiar to plaintiff lawyers. They are the usual suspects in toxic tort cases; oil companies, coal producers and utilities.
