A small plane crashed into two homes outside of los Angeles on Saturday, April 12, injuring two passengers and three people on the ground.

The plane crashed at around 4 p.m. and the fuselage crashed through the roof of one home while the left wing crashed into the other home.  Both passengers on the plane were listed in critical condition.

In one of the homes a woman was critically injured while another person suffered minor injuries.  In the other home a woman occupant complained she was experiencing chest pains.  The plane crash did not cause a fire.

The plane was heading for Hawthorne Municipal Airport, which was around 10 miles away, and was leaving from San Diego.  The Hawthorne Airport has a control tower, but authorities were not sure whether the pilot was in contact with controllers.
