U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls children's toy that poses risk of injury. A voluntary recall issued for the Learn-Around Playground Activity Center.

Yesterday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall for the Learn-Around Playground Activity Center. The Learn-Around Playground is a multi-colored, plastic musical activity center geared to children between 6 and 36 months of age. The toy resembles a small, plastic workbench, embedded with numbers, letters and frogs. Located on the left side of the toy is a plastic tube, which the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission determined poses an injury risk to children. A child's arm can become caught in the plastic tube. In fact, LeapFrog Enterprises, the toy's manufacturer, has received 145 reports of children whose arms got caught in the Learn-Around Playground. Some of those incidents involved injury to the children.

The recall involves about 186,000 Learn-Around Playground Activity Center toys. The toy was sold at department and toy stores nationwide from July 2005 through August 2006.
